Since the 1980s there has been a growing realisation that the current model of development is unsustainable. Our way of life is placing an increasing burden on the planet. As architects, we have to look at the three main areas of sustainability in the built environment: energy, water and recycling of waste.

Therefore, where applicable, recommendations are made to the client with the various options available for their particular project. Economic pressures often dictate the client’s choice; however, we believe that as designers and architects we are in a unique position to influence the future of the built environment. Our small everyday actions add up to make a big difference.
